![]() I guess I’ll figure it out after the next shutdown and turn on of everything. Now it is passing the audio from the tv to the AVR as DD+ and it “seems” to have fixed the lip sync, assuming it wasn’t just the switch over while it was playing a movie. ![]() I liked pass through because it sent multi ch to the AVR and I figured it was the highest quality. So this morning, I checked my audio settings on the LG and switched from pass through to Auto. I solved them eARC switching to internal speakers, so I just couldn’t figure out the lip sync issue. Now I have a 4K LG (low end) with a 2021 ATV 4K and I hooked it up ATV> LG>AVR and have the lip sync issue of course, and lately it is more noticeable to me. But I had issues with it switching from eARC to internal speakers so I switched back and dealt with the lip sync on some apps after getting my main app in sync through the AVR. I then switched to ATV> TV>AVR and it fixed it. I had an old Apple TV 4K that had a lip sync issue when going ATV> AVR>TV, different for various apps. If you don’t want to waste your time, try with a tittle that you are absolutely sure for it’s specs (Dynamic range, fps) and run the tool only for this specific combination. We have to run the wireless audio sync tool for every possible output. Some people have reported resolution, but most seem to be similarly frustrated.Īre you using a similar LG / Soundbar / ATV4K setup? I’m guessing I’ll have the same issue with audio sync for the PS5 then :(Īfter researching online, it seems to be a relatively widespread LG eARC issue. I was more trying to future proof my setup for when they do turn on the HDMI 2.1 features, and also prepare for potentially connecting a PS5 directly to the TV in the future. You’re completely right about the ATV4K not utilising any of the HDMI 2.1 features, so I’ve gone back to connecting it via soundbar for now. When outputting Atmos content in “passthrough”, the soundbar also doesn’t recognise the Atmos signal, and the difference in volume and soundstage is very perceptible, so it’s not just the ATV4K being quirky. I can only manually select up to Dolby Digital 5.1. So the problem is that when I set the LG sound output to “passthrough”, the ATV4K immediately seems to no longer detect the Dolby Atmos capability and it disappears from the Audio settings section.
